Major improvement to the BC Field Serivce Management Extension: Enhanced automation of order processing

The new version 1.0.0.15 of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is now available in Microsoft Appsource.

This version provides major improvements for automation of order processing.

  • Previous versions have introduced basic functionality for automation. This supports a fully digitalized field service management process where data from the field is imported automatically into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).
  • This version builds on this functionality, but goes a major step further: Inconsistencies and errors that may occur when processing data from the Handyman Field Service App are now logged and do not disturb automation: Orders that can be processed automatically are updated without human intervention. Orders that have issues are flagged as errors and provide instructions how to resolve the issue.
  • As the App Handyman Mobile allows service technicians to work off-line, it is possible that some registrations made there by the service technician cannot be processed in BC – e.g. because items are used that have been discontinued in the meantime in BC. 
  • The new function to flag errors allows to find and correct such issues easily – while the bulk of the data send from field service technicians is processed in BC without manual work.
