The new version of GSGroup’s Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central creates new opportunities for mobile working with projects and maintenance orders and simplifies mobile warehouse management.
In the resource card in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, additional settings can now be made for Materials Management and Logistics Handyman. In particular, the personal vehicle warehouse can be configured and access to the department warehouse.
In the 2022 wave 1 release for Business Central, the projects (jobs) have been revised by Microsoft. In the process, numerous new fields were added to projects. In particular, it is now possible to distinguish between the invoice recipient („invoice to customer“) and the service recipient („delivery to customer“) in a project. This distinction is now reflected in GSGroup’s Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Business Central. A new setting option makes it possible to select which of the two customer data records in the order is to be transferred to the service technician’s mobile device.
Along with this change comes a new configuration setting to export projects with a Handyman job category. This means that Handyman ’s various configuration options for job categories can also be used for projects – for example, for automatically adding mandatory checklists or for mobile time recording.
In the new version it is now also possible to export Handyman order type 12 (service order). This type is considered together with the service item group code to automatically add checklists to the order in Handyman. This means that different checklists for installation, maintenance and repair can be used for the same service item. This feature is especially helpful for users who do not map the maintenance plan in Handyman, but use contracts in Business Central for this purpose. This way, the maintenance orders created in Business Central automatically receive the correct maintenance logs for the mobile service technician to complete on his laptop, tablet or smartphone in Handyman Mobile.
