GSGroup has updated the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Version to version 2.0.0.40.

The new version allows Handyman to interact more closely with BC and comes with enhanced user experience and stability.

Improvements in order management

  • Handyman Cues in the BC Role Center for Sales Orders and Service Orders completed in Handyman use now a filter on the user’s Responsibility Center. This is useful for field service organizations having multiple departments / branches. In such a service-scenario users may be granted access rights on their entity only via the standard BC-filter on Responsibility Center.
  • New Handyman Order Status: Created in Handyman. This status is set when the order is created.
  • Project description is now exported to the Handyman field „Order Name“ instead of Main Order because Order Name can take the full length of the field from BC. This fixes an issue that could lead to projects not being exported properly.
  • „Your reference“ is now exported for all order types to the Handyman field „Customer Reference“. When service or sales orders are created the field is used as well.
  • Improved stability in creation of new sales an service orders based on new orders created in the field in Handyman Mobile or in Handyman Office / from the Handyman Maintenance Plan in the Handyman Contract of Handyman Service Management.
  • Inbound Order Summary did not show entries for 2025 correctly.
  • New field „Initial planned order start date“. This date is set to the first planned start date received from Handyman. For service orders automatically generated via the Handyman maintenance plan, this field shows the initially calculated due date. This allows Service Managers to track the order along the  life cycle by comparing calculated due date of the maintenance with the planned execution date and the actual execution date when the service technician has performed the job in the Field Service App Handyman Mobile.

Automation

  • Automation for other tasks than order processing can now be used independently of the order processing automation type. This is useful for users that only want to automate e.g. processing of store movements alone.
  • New parameter to re-run Create Item Journal Lines from Inbound Store Movements in automation. This increases the number of store movements that can be processed automatically and reduces manual re-work.
  • If a number series is defined for the Item Journal Template in Business Central then the number series is used when creating Item Journal Lines from Handyman (Mobile) store movements.
  •  Improved stability of the Code Unit used for automation

Export Basic Data

  • The Resource Card has now an own FastTab grouping all Handyman-fields. Resources are typically used for Mobile Field Service Technicians. As BC has little Field Service functionality, many field have been added by the Extension. The dedicated FastTab makes it easier to use this functionality critical for configuring the digital field service processes.
