Business Central Interface Version 2.0.0.49

The new version of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central makes invoicing easier and provides further improvements in order management.

Better support for creating invoices in BC based on orders processed in Handyman field service management

  • The Handyman report „order summary“ can now be attached automatically to service and sales invoices sent via e-mail.
In may cases customers expect to receive a detailed service report for orders executed by field service technicians. The Handyman standard report „order summary“ provides all the required information – It contains not only all the information on the registered hours and items, but also descriptions of the work carried out, reports on each checklist filled and photos taken on site. This is why many of our customers attach the Handyman order summary report  to their sales or service invoices. In the past, this used to be a manual process. With the new version of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, this step can now be automated: The report is automatically attached when creating an e-mail to send a sales invoice or service invoice in BC. The functionality can be activated globally or per customer.
  • Sales invoices contain now the same information on the underlying Handyman order as sales orders do. This makes it easier to process these invoices.

Usability improvements, new features and bugfixes

  • New setting to disable export of sales order lines of type resource.
This functionality is helpful if the order contains lines (e.g. resource lines copied from a quote) that should not be visible in Handyman.
  • New option to show Handyman contract report right from the BC contract. Handyman provides a very comprehensive service contract functionality that covers many aspects not covered by service contracts in BC:
    • Service invoicing (e.g. periodically invoiced contract fee, terms & conditions, special rules for item pricing)
    • Service planning (e.g. periodically generated maintenance orders for the different service intervals)
    • Service documentation (e.g different service forms to document the work done on the different service visits)
    • Item planning (e.g. spare parts required for a particular service interval)
  • In some cases, Handyman contracts are used in addition to BC contracts. Here the new functionality is handy to check the details of the Handyman contract right from the BC contract.
  • Sales lines are now exported with dates.
  • Service orders export service item basic data only if needed.
  • Fixed an error in the inbound order summary page used to approve hours in particula for projects.
