Business Central Interface Version 2.0.0.65

Version 2.0.0.65 of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has been released. With this release item variants are supported:

• Item Variants enable you to manage multiple versions of the same item—such as size, color, or configuration—under a single item card. This functionality simplifies inventory, pricing, and sales processing by tracking stock levels, costs, and availability per variant while avoiding item master duplication.
• The new version of the Field Serivce Management extension supports use of item variants in Handyman.
• This applies to all areas where items are used, like item basic data, store export, export and import of store movements, export and import of orders as well as import of item requests.
• This is done by creating additional items in Handyman having as unique key the BC Item number and the BC variant number separated by a key defined in the configuration of the Handyman extension. 
• To use the functionality perform the following steps:
  1. In Handyman delete all items from all item catalogs – at least all items where variants are mandatory.
  2. In BC in the Handyman settings define the prefix to be used for item variants (e.g. „-VAR-„)
  3. Export all items from BC – at least all items having variants.
  4. Export all stores with content.
  5. Synchronize Handyman Mobile
• In addition we optimized the re-export of orders from BC to Handyman. If unprocessed records sent by Handyman are kept for a long period of time in „Inbound Orders“ in BC before being processed there was a risk that these data overwrite more recent data in Handyman upon re-export. This applies in particular to the planned order start date.
