Orders created in Handyman should become invoices in BC right away, bypassing order creation? You would like to have more control whether a new sales order or a new service order should be created in BC? Then the new version of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the right one for you!

Create invoices in Business Central instead of orders

  • If configured accordingly, mobile service technicians can create new orders in Handyman Mobile. Handyman Office also allows to create new orders.
  • So far the the Handyman extension has created in BC orders for these Handyman orders – either service orders or sales orders.
  • The new version lets you create invoices as well. This is particularly handy for Handyman invoice orders that can be invoiced in BC right away and do not need a sales order in-between.

Advanced configuration for document creation in BC

  • So far, order creation in BC has been controlled by the settings „Always create sales orders“ and „Create service orders if possible“. You can continue using these options.
  • In addition we have created a new option to define an individual configuration.
  • This configuration allows you to define
    • the BC document class to create (Sales/Service)
    • and the BC document type to be created (Order/Invoice)
    • dependent on the Handyman order type of the inbound order record (work-order, installation-order, repair-order, service-order, invoice-order) the document 

Additional improvements and corrections

  • The debug mode has been extended to allow you to download the original data imported from Handyman. If XML debugging is active, you can download the original XML data within the report actions of the order from the Handyman page.
  • Delete orders in ‚Orders from Handyman‘ and in Handyman itself. Orders may have been created erroneously and should be deleted in Handyman and in the inbound orders in BC. This can now be achieved via actions on the inbound order card and in the inbound order list, making it much more efficient to clean up your order data.
  • The extension can be configured to use Handyman Service Management alongside Sales Orders in BC. This removes the need for premium Business Central licences, while still providing full service management functionality in Handyman. In the previous versions, if additional dimensions were used in Sales Orders, e.g. related to the salesperson, an error could occur if this scenario was active. This has now been corrected.
