It depended on an internet connection.

“When our technicians were inside a turbine completing their reports, they had to be online. If the connection dropped, they risked losing everything they had entered. That became a major source of frustration in the field.”

The company therefore started looking for a solution that could work reliably offline.

“That was actually the main reason we switched to Handyman. We needed a system that works where our technicians work – even when there’s no mobile signal.”

“The most important thing isn’t how the system works in the office. What’s important is that it works for the technicians in the field. That’s where our business is created.”

Today, PMT’s technicians complete all their service documentation directly in Handyman, even when working without network coverage. They record working hours, materials used, photos, and detailed job descriptions directly from their mobile devices.

“Our technicians can complete checklists and service reports while they’re still inside the turbine. Once they’re back within network coverage, everything is automatically synchronised.”

Digital Checklists Improve Quality and Compliance

As an ISO-certified company, PMT operates under strict documentation requirements.

Every wind turbine service visit includes numerous inspection points that must be completed and documented correctly. Previously, checklists were not always completed consistently. With Handyman, that challenge has disappeared.

“One of the things I appreciate the most is that our checklists are now an integrated part of every service report. If a checklist hasn’t been completed, the report simply can’t be submitted.”

This ensures that documentation is always complete while supporting consistent quality across every service visit.

The digital checklists also play an important role in training new technicians.

“When new employees join us, they have a clear step-by-step guide to follow. It helps them work systematically through the turbine and ensures that nothing gets overlooked.”

From Service Report to Invoice in Seconds

Once a service job has been completed, the report is reviewed and approved. Working hours, materials, and other recorded data are then transferred directly to the company’s ERP and financial system.

“The technicians capture everything while they’re on-site. Once the office approves the report, the information is immediately ready for invoicing. It’s fast, simple, and efficient.”

At the same time, Handyman stores the complete service history for every individual wind turbine. Previous maintenance visits, replaced components, and warranty cases are always easy to find, giving PMT full traceability throughout the entire lifecycle of each asset.
