Again, GSGroup has published a new version of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This time the focus is on improvements for items, service items and pricing.

Item data can be kept up-to-date more easily

  • New function to export an individual item to the field service management app Handyman Mobile
  • Improved functionality to export items automatically after changes to the item have been made.
  • Configuration for alternative item export has been simplified. As most users use this configuration to export items we have simplified the settings to turn it on.

Handyman equipment status can now be set and be exported from BC

  • Within the Handyman Service Management Module there is a functionality to set the equipment state.
  • This allows to set equipment in state new (the equipment is not yet installed), installed, pause (temporarily out of service) or historical.
  • In Business Central only the status „Installed“ exists for service items. However, service items do not have the possibility to set the other Handyman status values like new, paused or historical.
  • Therefore we have added a new field „Handyman status“ to service items.
  • Like this you can set the status of the service item / equipment right in Business Central
  • When exporting service items, the selected status is set in Handyman.
  • Existing service items and new service items are by default set to state „installed“.

Use item pricing defined in Handyman in Business Central

  • Handyman offers very flexible ways to define item pricing.
  • In particular pricing can be set per customer and per contract and individually per order line. Many customers would like to use the pricing mechanisms of Handyman for invoicing in BC.
  • With the new version of the Field Service Management Extension it is possible to use these prices when updating Business Central with order lines from Handyman.
  • The new functionality can be turned on via a new setting.

Various improvements to make the extension even more convenient to use

  • Details from the Handyman contract are now displayed in the inbound order card. This can be handy when checking/approving incoming data from the field.
  • Added warning if permission to use https is missing.
  • Debug mode to review data before the export to the Field Service Management App Handyman.
  • Ensured compatibility for BC 26.
