Business Central Interface Version 2.0.0.71

Easy onboarding and great usability is very important for us. This is why we focus on these two topics in our lates release of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Redesign of inbound order pages

  • We have implemented a couple of changes to make use of the page more intuitive.
  • Insert of new lines in the sub-pages is disabled is this is not supported by the page. New material lines can be added via the page action introduced in version 2.0.0.68 of the Handyman Field Service Management Extension.
  • Delete of lines in sub-pages is enabled where this is required to ensure creation or update of orders/projects works.
  • For inbound material and inbound Hours & Costs, delete is disabled. If lines from Handyman should not be imported in BC, use the flag “Exclude” in the line.

Redesign of the Handyman settings page

  • The extension uses a particular transaction type to classify records originated from Handyman. With this version, this transaction type is created automatically if it does not exist.
  • Automation can be used in different forms in the extension. We re-arranged the different settings relevant for automation to make it easier to set-up automation.

Redesign of Handyman fields in document cards

  • As far as possible card pages for sales orders, service orders and projects show the same Handyman fields in the same place and in the same sequence. Like this all three can be used in the same way.
  • Existing fields have not been removed.
  • However, some fields have been moved to the Handyman fastab.

Redesign of the cues in the role center

  • There is an additional cue showing inbound order records having errors.
  • We recommend handling these orders first so that this cue shows zero results.
  • Changed labels for better readability given the very short text that can be displayed.

New action to set Handyman orders to finished and historical

  • Sometimes Handyman orders should be closed right from BC.
  • This process is now supported by the extension: There is a new action in the BC sales order and service order pages to set the related Handyman orders to finished and historical – without the need to open Handyman Office first.

Further enhancements and bufixes

  • A warning is shown  if an order is exported and non-processed records for the order exist. In this case export may overwrite data in Handyman.
  • New page for outbound store movements. This allows to track store movements sent from BC to Handyman and the related Item Ledger Entries. The page can be opened from Handyman settings page
  • Setting an item to blocked can trigger the automatic export if this is activated via configuration.
  • Ordername is now included in re-export so that the field is updated in Handyman if it was changed in in inbound order.
